FAITH
About five years ago, Pastor Eddie took three leaders with him to
the Pole Creek Baptist Church in Candler to be trained for FAITH evangelism
strategy. Five years later, more than 150 people have been involved
in some way in this ministry.
FAITH is a ministry that meets for twelve week sessions twice a year.
The object is to get out in the community sharing Christ and praying
for the needs of the people. We meet on Tuesdays at 6:00 pm. After
enjoying a wonderful meal prepared by our meal preparation team we
give out visitation assignments, pray and go to the community. During
our visits we seek to know people's needs while introducing them to
our Sunday School and other ministries. Often we are able to share
our faith with some who need the Lord. Many have been baptized into
our church as a direct effort of FAITH.
After visitation we come back to the church and celebrate the great
things which have transpired that evening. The evening is then concluded
with a time of study and devotion. This semester we are studying a
book entitled, "Life In The Spirit".
It is amazing how the community accepts this ministry and congratulates
us on getting out in the community. FAITH has taught us that we have
no other choice. Jesus teaches us that the harvest fields are ripe
unto harvest and we must be laborers in that field. FAITH Evangelism
is a wonderful way to fulfill that call of God in our lives.
